The mission of the E-SENIORS Institute is to support ICT-related programs targeted towards seniors and the disabled. These include:

- research and development

- observation and prospective studies

- dissemination and promotion of information and best practices

- monitoring and training

Implementation is through an essentially bottom-up approach: initiatives in accordance with user needs and tested in the field. Underlying this approach, particularly in developing and building upon existing networks, is the triangular symbiosis among users, researchers and producers.
